			<description><![CDATA[ How often do you trim your Great Dane&#39;s toe nails?  I take Mack to Petsmart to get them done because I&#39;m not sure I won&#39;t screw it up, and US$11.00
seems like a pretty good deal to let someone else handle it.  However, they never seem to trim them short enough and I think I may be waiting too long between
trimmings.  Yesterday I noticed Mack limping a bit and then realized his toe nails were way too long.  I felt so guilty about abusing the poor guy!  I ran him

			<title><![CDATA[ Tail Amputation ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ So, Soph&#39;s tail was amputated on November 6th.  Stitches removed 11/17.  In hindsight, I think the vet (not mine-he was on vacation) took out the stitches
too soon.  We&#39;ve been back every week to see our vet (at no charge-gotta love his integrity).

She&#39;s also on steriod treatment for meningitis, which I understand slows the healing process (as well as suppressing the immune system - poor girl has had
no contact with other dogs or been to the store or park, etc).  Tails... ]]></description>

Well, we have VIP and finally submitted a claim for 2009 - about $6600.  Yes, our girl has some problems.

Received checks today and they total $2500.  Some claims were refused, and looking at the policy, rightly so.  I could easily have left off $1000.

So, I&#39;d say they paid 50% for visits, vaccines, medications, testing (alot of it), meningitis diagnosis and tail amputation... ]]></description>

that even though we bred Goldens in the past, we&#39;re not experienced enough with this breed  and would like to do the responsible thing and have her spayed.
 Our big question is when.  With Danes, I&#39;ve read that you should wait at least 1 yr. for hormonal changes, wait until 3 months after 1st heat, early is

			<title><![CDATA[ Bumps on Neck - Problems with Collar ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ It appears that Isis&#39; collar is irrating her neck and causing little bumps under her coat.  We have used a Lupine Martingale collar, tried a Lupine Flat
collar and went back to the Martingale.  Has anyone else ever had this issue occur?  Can you recommend another collar I should use for her?  I&#39;ve never had
this problem with my past pooches or my Mastiff or Boston.  Ideas?

			<title><![CDATA[ Sick after being spayed ]]></title>

			<description><![CDATA[ I dont post here much but I have a 6 month old Great Dane. We took her Wed Nov 11 to our vets office to have her spayed. We went the whole 9 yards and paid for
all the extra monitoring and that night to be boarded and watch. We called probably about a million times to check on her. When I talked to the vet she told me
that Dahlia (our great dane) did wonderful and was up walking around and was about to eat. She told me I could pick her up any time they are open the next day.

			<description><![CDATA[ Otis is about 9 1/2 months old now and growing fast,but i can not get him to put on weight.I give him 8 cups of Orijen a day and his ribs are still visible.I
have had a few stool samples tested to make sure he did not have parasites and all were negative.My dog trainer says not to worry and he will fill out when his
growth slows down.But i still worry.What do you Guys/girls think?Should i just chock it up to fast growth and not worry as much?
