Does anyone use a drool bib? |

Just curious. I have my 10 month old and when she drinks water, she soaks the place with 12 inches of drool coming off of each jowl. So, I went and bought a
baby bib that slides over her head like a tee shirt. It works great. I have her wear it around the house and it works well and she looks super cute. We
recently started obediance classes. She is a very nervous dog outside her comfort zone and when she is nervous, its a drool factory. Its more foamy and falls
off from accumulating on her lips so splats down like a soft snow ball hitting the ground. In the training area, you always know who is where because she is in
the area covered in drool at least 10 square feet. So, we stared wearing it in training. It helps collect her drool and helps me wipe my hands off from her
drooly face. Everyone laughs every time she walks in with her pink fleece coat with her name on it and her pink sesame street big. Too funny. She does settle
down in the class and starts mingling with the other dogs and then its all over. Everyone has a day of doggy bathing after they play with her.

None of our dogs are droolers, but I think that's a wonderfully creative solution, and I'll remember it for others. I love that you color coordinate
with her coat.

Harley's a drooler, but since I've never had kids I never thought of that. I do have a bath mat under his elevated food/water bowls that helps collect
the water he drips on the floor while he's drinking.

That is an awesome idea. Havoc does not drool any other time than just after his drink and then he drools tons of water but he is sure to wipe it off on
someone...usually the guest that is over...hehehe.

Merle drools after drinking too. And I also have a bath mat under her bowls (I actually have two, so I can rotate, using one while the other is being washed).
I also used to tie bandannas around her neck (always while supervised) But now that she has grown so much I can't tie them around her neck with enough
slack to be useful. So now I just keep old sheets on the floor, once she is done drinking, I can wipe her mouth off and quickly mop up the floor, at least to
keep it under control until I can actually mop with the trusty ol' Swifter. It doesn't look too pretty to have these sheets laying around, but they
have come in very handy. And this of course doesn't help while out and about. The bib idea is too funny and a very good idea!

Gosh, I don't have any pics yet of her bib but I should definately get some. I also have no children but I work in a nursing home where they make huge bibs
for adults and thats kinda where I thought that I can do this for my girl. I will try to take a few pics of her and post them.
I will see what I can do. |

Hudson doesn't drool enough to have a bib, just a little after drinking water. However my last dog (Mastiff) would drool when we walked. I always took a
drool rag with us on our walks. Nothing like shoe string drool to turn people off.
So I would wipe his mouth now and then as we walked along, so we wouldn't make people walking past ill. I just used a little hand towel or a golf towel. Those became
"HIS".

The bib is a great idea Dee my Dane drool like a water fountain drinking, walking and playing at the dog park I also carry a rag or towel. We have them around
the house and in the vehicles. I showed my husband the pics. he said that's just wrong (a guy thing) nothing bad meant by it because he knows I am going to
be out there buying bibs for our dog instead of our kids hahahah. As if my dog is not a big kid.
