Havoc again.......argh |
Lead | ||
|
Ok so for the last 2 days...yesterday and today pretty much Havoc has had anywhere from regular nicely formed poops to diarrhea. He is eating normally and
drinking normally and nothing has changed that I can think of. He is still active and outgoing and chewing bones and what not as well. He is eating solid
gold wolfking. I am not sure if a vet visit is needed as of yet or if we wait it out a little bit. Any suggestions or idea would be great....Havoc is lucky
he is my baby...hahaha.

I can only speak for my boy but at that age, one day he's good, next day he's not, one poop good, 2 poops not.......no reason just the way it was until
he was I think around 10 months. Nothing changed, jus the way it was.
As long as he is eating well, drinking well and playful I wouldn't worry too much. Are you giving him any kind of digestive supplements? |

Unfortunately that sounds all too familiar. Major could be thrown off by just a couple biscuits or treats which I don't normally give because his system
is so sensitive or it could be due to excitement like lots of fun at the dog park or to who know knows what!?!?! His growth and weight gain was always good
and steady and he never was dehydrated and he was regularly checked for worms so we just had to ride it out. I did give supplements (4 in 1 Probiotics) and
tried a variety of excellent brand kibbles.
I would not see any reason to contact the vet at this point but keep an eye of things. Oh, I just see that you said he is chewing bones---that too would cause a round of pudding poo for Major. |

Zeus is like that to sometimes when I give him to many treats as well. I am always training with him, and I usually give treats as a reward with alot of praise
and then I mix it up. I wont give treats but I always praise him and give him kisses. It does not last more than a day, and then he will be back to his regular
stool.. Also I cut back on the treats for a bit as well.. I used to give Zeus the big mamoth bones, the ones with the meat still on them, but then he got sick
off them and had real runny poop for 3 days. went to the vet and they said he was fine other than an upset stomach.. So no more mamoth bones..

i know that feeling. I check Duke's poop everytime he goes. Im not sure why but I used to do this with my daughter too. I see the colors and how much he
goes and try to compare to past few days and know he is doing okay. Everyone laugh at me for doing this LOL.

Hello Maya,
Well I fasted him for a day and then gave him some rice and a bit of bran and that seemed to help him alot...he seems to be back to normal so now we will start smaller meals of his kibble. Is it possible for a dog as they get older to become less tolerant of their food? I think maybe it could be the bison that is causing his tummy upset. Thanks for asking Maya!

Merle has some tummy issues too. I was hoping she will out grow them, but I am so scared to try any treats that may mess up her tummy again, so I am not really
sure if it is any better. She got so sick after getting a hold of my son's go-gert and so I am not sure if she shouldn't have regular yogert or if it
was specifically the go-gert (which is more candy like) or if she was something different altogether and she just so happen to get into the go-gert at that
time, you know? But she had really bad diarrhea, a fever, and her stomach was swollen. If she had gotten into anything else during that time frame, I never did
find any evidence of it. So the vet thinks she might be lactose intolerant. The only way to be sure is to try things and see what happens, but I don't want
to put her (or me) thru that again. So we just go with what we know is safe. Merle also had a lot of bouts with diarrhea when I first took her in. There was a
lot of stress in her life at that time too. So I don't know. She has done a lot better with all of that, still will have an occasional softer stool. But
that just happens and I try not to over react. You and Maya are right for keeping an eye on stools though. With my exotics (mainly reptiles) we document all
feedings and defecation...if both those ends are working, then everything should be ok in the middle
Anyhoo...I really hope Havoc gets 100% real quick! Merle says to tell him that she understands! Good luck and keep us posted. |

yea...the puppy poopie thing is unavoidable i think. Marley had the same issues. i had her on wolf king for a bit also, but if she had anything else, a treat
or something, she was totally irregular. I switched her to raw which is doing quite well for her, however, if she happens to steal food from the kids or find
it on the floor or something, she'll end up with some ickie poo (not that poo isn't ickie anyway LOL).

Hello Everyone, I was having a problem with Colbi having loose stools. She would start off normal and as the day went on they became looser. She was otherwise
fine. My mother a nurse suggested she may be drinking too much water and I didn't think she was that I noticed. Then I called the food company and spoke to
a vet and she asked aboout the water consumption as well again I didn't think it was excessive. Well I decide to pay better attention and when she had a
drink I would take it away after what i felt was plenty, then put it back down for her next drink. I have been donig this for three days and pretty quickly her
stools have become consistantly normal. Last night before bed she was loose but previous to that fine. So you may want to check that out. I will let you know
if anything changes. The bowl we use is about a quart and a half and i was filling it at least two times a day so I guess they can overdo it without us
realizing it.
