So. Here's the lowdown.
When we first got Bruiser - he was on Purina Puppy Chow...we fed him that for 2 weeks and switched him cold turkey to TOTW
TOTW has a 60% protein content (per the bag we had - beef/bison/venison) and was giving Bruiser very very soft/loose stools.
Picked up a bag of Authority Large Breed Puppy - (PetSmart's own food) and Bruiser is eating that - Protein is at 27% (If I remember correctly - bag is at boyfriends house as both of them are there tonight) and his stools are more firm and definitely NOT soft...I mean, they are, but not the squishy mess that they were.
Was told that Authority isn't the best for Bruiser. However, we don't want to feed a non-grain food as it really makes Bruiser's stool super soft. We want to make sure he gets the best food possible, that he'll like and eat with gusto....and gain/grow the appropriate amount.
Can someone recommend a food that they are currently feeding their Great Dane Puppy? We want something with a grain, as the grain free was really bothering Bruiser and he eventually turned his nose from it.
Bruiser just turned 11 weeks on Tuesday. He's about 28lbs (give or take a smidge as my boyfriend weighed himself then weighed himself w/Bruiser in his arms and figured it out from there) but I have a feeling that he's 30 because my scale is old and could be off a pound or two. Please help, and thank you in advance!
