It all started happening about three weeks ago at the dog park. Samson was playing and having fun and I noticed his foot was bleeding so I got looking and it was two of his toe nails. We all stepped back to watch him play and when he would walk/run he was dragging that foot, and wore his toe nails down. so I got him to stop playing and we went home. Later that week he had a vet opp so we just toke him in then, but all that week ( and now ) he was dragging his back feet when he would take a stride. It is not as bad in the house or when he is walking slow, but it gets really bad when he is tired or running.
We went to the vet and she took him outside and ran him to see how him move and was not happy about the way he was walking. She thinks he MAY have wobblers but is not formally trained in neurology. She is not sure if it is just him growing or just a puppy thing but she is definitely leaning to something more serious like wobblers. She put him on some anti-inflammatorys and she said she could try to do some x-ray and if she could not figure it out go to the neurosurgeon she recommended.
So that is ware were at, at the moment!
I just got finished
reading into wobblers and all of the miled simtoms sound just like what samson is doing.
My mom was wondering if it had anything to do with the tile in our house? He looks like he has a hard time on it (sliding around wise) but that would not affect the way he picks up his feet, would it?
We will be making a appointment with a vet very soon.
Any one with any info on the mater would greatly be appreciated. If you have/haded a dog with it or like issue, what treatment ideas, have trouble with tile, or have some ideas about helping him before we see the vet that would be great.
