Well we brought our little guy home yesterday, YAY! I'll be posting some pics up a little later
It's been such a loooong time since I've had a
puppy, I wanted to ask you guys about some things he's doing and if it sounds normal. He is whining A LOT. Not just in his crate (where I expect it), but
even during eating and while he's just walking around. Maybe just separation anxiety from his litter? Also, I've caught him in his accidents, shouted
"NO!" to interupt him, and I scoop him up to take him outside. Problem is, he continues to go a little as I pick him up 
. Am I not giving him a good enough startle?
He seems very awkward/clumsy in his walking--not tripping over his feet or anything, just kind of looks like he could lose his balance. And he plops down to sit/lay down a lot, usually after whining or this funny grunting/grumbling sound he likes to make. He REALLY wiggles when I pick him up too.
Allright, so I'm extremely paranoid because of the whole BYB thing, and maybe I'm just making too much of this? I am sad to say that the breeders residence wasn't at all what I had anticipated, WAY too many dogs on site, much more than they had listed on their website. I did meet the dam and she was good natured, but obviously anxious as her puppies were all going to their new homes that day (they had taken the majority of them to OKC to ship). There was one other Dane running around and he was very friendly, but the rest were penned up in relatively small runs (NOT in the house as their website claims), and the barking was so loud it was like a dog ZOO. I will NOT buy another Dane from them, that is for sure.
All in all, our pup is very sweet, but then what puppy isn't? I just need to know if any of the above behaviors should be immediate concerns? I am taking him to the vet tomorrow for his checkup.
